Columbia River Beef / Heart Blend

On to a new flavor.  We’ve had good experience with the chicken chub… but I get the feeling he likes Beef or Pork better.  Since he’s holding everything down now (and put  a pound on!) we’ll stay the course with this brand.  …and they’re local which certainly doesn’t hurt when you consider allergies.

It’s all a little gross… it’s the result of a blender going to the last parts of an animal, so why wouldn’t it be..  That said, this was particularly a little extra disgusting.  Gunner couldn’t have disagreed more.

One small thing I’m not too fond of is the bags.  They’re great for frozen storage, but I’ve noticed the majority of them leaka  bit once the begin to defrost.  I’ve dedicated a drawer in the fridge for them which is contaning any leakage, but it still requires cleanup. the drawer also provides an easy system for me.  I’ve got three in there at any given time and as I take one out for his meal, I transfer one from the freezer to the drawer to replace it.  Simple, so simple… and I thought the defrosting thing would be an issue.

I let it thaw out for about two days this time (due to new “system”, above), so unlike the last chub it was soft and easily digest able.  This German Shepherd had no problem wolfing the whole meal down.  …and get this; NO VOMITING, at all.  It’s as if we found a solution to his problem, remarkable.

yum. right…

So far I’m becoming a vocal fan of Columbia River Natural Pet Food, but there are a few more brands to try. Like any good diet he’ll need variety.  To bad I can’t apply this discipline to my own diet, I’d be a veritable super man.

wait for it…

Next up; “Beef Blend” with liver and stuff.  mmmm
